Wren bicycles

Brompton lover? BMX bandit? Sit-up-and-beg? Whatever your type, if you ride a bicycle then you will know that there are many choices for the discerning cyclist. Although, there is a gap for the city-dweller to get to-and-from their destination and for those that want to arrive with some finesse, this is positively challenging.

So, along comes Wren Bicycles, started by graphic designer Pete Richardson, and launched last week at the cheekily-named ‘Look Mum, No Hands’ in London to save us from our woes of how to get from A to B.

Inspired by the plight of the journeying city-dweller on oversized or overdesigned bicycles, Wren created an attractive city bike. Wren Bicycles present a brand new design that won’t be found elsewhere – a compact bicycle designed in England that combines the sturdiness and confidence of a traditional town bike with the style and aesthetics of much-loved classics.

The bicycles are hand-made to their own design and at present, presumably because suppliers are not settled in, Wren Bicycles are only available in strictly limited quantities at any one time. Oh well, I already have a Brompton so perhaps I should wait a little longer before considering a Wren.
