I heart Old Town clothing

Miles out of London, surrounded by National Trust land lies a beautiful little shop named Old Town. Having planned my second holiday for the year in North Norfolk (try saying that after three G&Ts) I had been very excited when reminded by my friend Jane to visit St Jude’s (more on that later), but with a few website clickthroughs I came across Old Town clothing.

I was excited just by looking at the website, so my expectations were high. Visiting Old Town was no disappointment, so much so that I found myself incapable of speaking and convinced myself to leave.

Having talked myself back into the shop, by now in less awe, I asked Miss Willey how much the beautiful hand made ties were. At a very reasonable £32 for the Leadenhall tie, I bit her hand off to buy one. Whilst in the mood, I threw in three brooches (one for Jane of course) in the hope of getting a bag, which to my delight I was given.

I could have spent hours in there looking at everything – it was the perfect retreat for slow living. If you can find a good reason to drive out to the North Norfolk coast one weekend, then you cannot miss a trip to Old Town.

Andy Beckett at the Guardian wrote a glowing piece on the rise of traditional Englishness in retail back in 2005.

Am very jealous you made it here before me…can’t wait to see the tie. Are you saving for a suit now?

I am a big fan of Corduroy trousers, and I would love pair of the high waist style ones, either corn or brown colour, I am 36″ waist and 32″ inside leg. I live in Dublin ans so as well as knowing the cost of the trousers, id like to know shipping cost. In addition do you by any chance make short corduroys in the same measurements.
look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks for the comment Conor. If you visit the website of Old Town at http://www.old-town.co.uk/ and get in touch with them I am sure that they will be able to help you.
